We'll start class today with an announcement from one of the DECA club organizers at our school about the new organization they are starting.

Next I'll ask you to complete this Piper Sandler Take Stock with Teens Survey that DECA asked us to complete.

Then we will form groups to investigate and explore the fourteen industry career clusters defined in The National Career Clusters Framework.

We'll work in pairs, with each pair selecting one of the industry clusters to investigate and present.

We will do a whole class evaluation together using the guidelines below.

• Maximum 6 bullet points per slide
• Maximum 6 words per bullet
• Prevent audience overload
• Ensure listeners focus on speakers, not text

The scoring rubric using this framework includes:

• Adheres strictly to the 6x6 limit
• Uses clean fonts (size 24pt or larger)
• Uses high-contrast colors without distracting animations.
• Speaker maintains eye contact
• Speaker avoids reading straight from slides
• Speaker manages time effectively (e.g., roughly 2–3 slides per minute).

Jackson sent me a definition of entrepreneurship as, starting, managing and running a business that you create / co-create with passion and care. I like that!

We'll begin class with a conversation about the importance of getting assignments completed on time, and discuss why in a class with no homework, students present in class will be expected to complete projects during the class time given for them, and students with excused absences from class will be expected to make up missing project work within two class periods.

Everyone who completed the first assignment last week earned either an A or an B+ grade. Those who didn't got an E grade.

Next we will have each group select one member to submit a PDF of their presentation on Canvas in the Types of Businesses assignment.
